Armageddon Expo Seeker Panel Report - S2 Spoilers

Jo went along to the Armageddon Expo to see the cast for their Legend of the Seeker panel and this is her report. WARNING: There be spoilers!

LotS panel at Armageddon Expo 2009, Monday 26 October 2009
by Jo

Craig Horner, Craig Parker, Tabrett Bethell, Mark Beesley and Bridget Regan were welcomed on stage and they screened a quick preview of Season 2, which was the same one which had been shown at this year's ComicCon in the States.  Looks awesome!

I'm no reporter but this is what I did pick up, so in no particular running order:
Craig H's favourite Dominos Pizza is pepperoni and cheese (he has appeared in a Dominos advert in NZ.)

His is also the most comfortable costume to wear, at which point he was asked by the other cast members how would he know, has he tried on their's?

Season 2 promises more magic and more topless Craig :-)   Bridget's white costume looks great on screen with its flowing sleeves, but she keeps getting them caught on her swords and around her arms.  It takes 20 minutes to lace her up into her costume.  She has a different costume coming up this Season in episode 8 or 9, but gave no specifics.  Her hair was dyed for the part keeping her blue eyes, even though in the book her character has green eyes.

Tabrett's is leather, tough & mean.   Her favourite location shoot is Bethells Beach.   Craig P would like her costume, specifically as his character seems to have a penchant for red himself.  When asked who amongst the cast was the biggest goofball, the obvious answer was Craig P.  (I heard someone near to me ask what a goofball was? :-) )

When asked by a younger fan if Darken Rahl would be returning in Season 2, Craig answered that he was not able to say, but added that the badguy in Season 2, "the Keeper", had the ability to bring people back to life.   He then nodded to the fan, and kept nodding - but didn't actually "say" anything.

The panel kept referring to "the Keeper" and "Nicki" but when asked who they were didn't actually answer the question....

Will there be a Season 3?  yes, depending on the success of Season 2.  So keep rewatching ever time the episodes are aired.

Why do you use an American accent for the characters?  to which Bridget answered, because I am American :-)   Enhanced answer was that its a Disney production and being sold in the States and other countries.  And also because Bridget does an awful Kiwi accent :-)

This was their first convention together as a group, so a world first :-)

The panel discussion finished and everyone, myself included rushed over to the main hall to queue for autographs by all of the panel, where I waited in line for over an hour only to have the line cut off 5 people ahead of me, so by the time I got to the table where the actors were signing they were already on their way, apparently due to time constraints (they had already overrun their alloted 1 hour).

Eureka! Seeker To Premiere on Foxtel 29 November!

TVTonight reports that Foxtel (Australian Pay TV) will be airring the show on Fox 8 from 29 November 2009. That's excellent news for those with foxtel and absolutely horrible news for those with just free-to-air tv.

FOX8 has picked up the Sam Raimi-produced fantasy series Legend of the Seeker.

Filmed entirely in New Zealand, it stars Australian actors Craig Horner (Blue Water High), Jay Laga'aia (Water Rats, Xena, Star Wars - Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith), Jessica Marais (Packed to the Rafters), along with Bruce Spence (The Matrix Revolutions) and Craig Parker (The Lord of the Rings).

It premiered in November 2008.

Seeker Season 2 Video - Mord'Sith Battle...

What's better than a Mord'Sith? More than one Mord'Sith <g> And even better than that is Charisma Carpenter being snarky as a Mord'Sith (she doesn't come off well in this clip). It's from the premiere episode of Season 2 - Marked. Cara turns a little physical <g>

Love it! Roll on November.

Many thanks to Lance for the link!

22 September 2009

Hey all.

Just sitting in my trailer in the most beautiful location in New Zealand....far out of the city. So green and lush. We are filming some outdoor shots today, and I am waiting out the rain. So quiet out here. So beautiful. Big day yesterday...my stunt double got kicked in the face during our fight scene (not by me thank god!!) but it was a big hit and she got her nose broken in 2 places!! She is so hard core though that she just taped it up and kept going!! What a trooper!! I love you Dana! You are so bad ass!! I will attempt to do the fight on Saturday when we shoot my coverage...hopefully, all faces will be in tact when I'm done!!

Peace love happiness to all.

It is so amazing here! The show is incredible and the locations are so stunning. I love new countries and exploring new cultures. That's one of the best things about my job, all the amazing places i get to go to. And working here is such a treat. I'm picking up all the local lingo, and am so comfortable, I don't want to leave! I miss my family and friends no doubt, but this is such an incredible experience, I am not wasting a second. I'm not back home until October so I have lot's more time to sight see and tour around.

On the work front, I am getting in such amazing shape from my stunt work. I am training alot for my fight scenes, which is so fun! I've done alot of stunt work with guns, and blood and gore, but I have never done anything like what I'm doing on this...!

Seeker Heading To Oz!

Variety has reported (you need a Universal Translator to figure out what they are talking about) that Legend of the Seeker will soon be seen on Australian TV.

That's the good news.

The bad news is that it's not on Free to Air but on Foxtel (cable). For those with Foxtel, that's great news. Foxtel has been undergoing some mega changes of late and this one more good reason why I've got the service <g>

Variety's report is here

and the translated bit is here:

What it's basically saying is that tv shows are now being shown quickly throughout the world in order to beat piracy (we get shows a few days after they air in the US which differed from the old ways of waiting a year or two (or more) to see the new episodes or new shows.

The article talks about the show FlashForward being sold to Foxtel and the last paragraph says that Legend of the Seeker is included in the package.

So after waiting over a year for Legend to surface on Aussie TV, it's finally going to show up on Foxtel. I'm guessing they will do what they did with True Blood (AWESOME show) and lead in with Season 1 followed by Season 2 without a break.

Many thanks to aerips from the AUSXIP Talking Xena Message Board for the link!
