Bridget Regan, star of the new syndicated fantasy show Legend of the Seeker, told SCI FI Wire the universe on view in the show is at once fantastical but familiar. The show, which is executive-produced by Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, is based on Wizard's First Rule, the first novel in the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind.

Regan plays Kahlan, a woman with tremendous magical power who loves and protects--but can't be with--Richard (Craig Horner), the prophesied Seeker of the title. It is Richard's destiny to save his people from Darken Rahl (Craig Parker), a dangerous adversary who plans to unleash evil on the land as part of his quest for power.
